Graduation Requirements

The most important thing to remember is that these requirements can change year-to-year, therefore make sure you are reading the most up-to-date curriculum guide. Different graduating classes can also have different requirements. Be sure to stay in contact with your guidance counselor and reach out if you have any questions. Juniors and Seniors will have periodic "credit checks" with their counselors to guarantee that they will walk across the stage in May.

Keep in mind that some colleges require (or strongly suggest) applicants to have taken a certain number of courses in a specific area of study. Generally, the required courses to graduate will meet admission requirements, however, double-checking would be beneficial.

BrightFutures Scholarship

BrightFutures scholarships are available to all graduating Florida students. Upon analyzing the past few years of scholarship requirements, the SAT/ACT score requirements have risen. Although the scholarship has become more competitive over the years, it is still attainable and should not discourage you from trying. For more information on how to "pass" these exams, please visit the "Juniors" tab. Additionally, service hours OR hours obtained though a part-time job are a requirement to receive the scholarship. Students can start recording hours the summer AFTER eighth grade and should continue all throughout high school.  The requirements and application are linked below, and forms to record service hours are found in the "Underclassmen" tab.

Netiquette

Remaining professional is the best way to build good relationships with your teachers and administration with whom you correspond. Just like at a job interview, you should use proper grammar, language, and tones. The adults you correspond with have the ability to change your life for the better, therefore showing that you can remain professional is the first step to success.
